Why Youth?
Young people make up the largest share of the population, but without the right support, that energy can turn into frustration, unemployment, or worse.

After our training, 8 in 10 youth report increased confidence and leadership skills. They form savings groups, start income-generating activities, and support one another. The result? Youth-led transformation that spreads through families and communities.
Rwanda's private sector isn’t creating enough jobs fast enough to absorb the rising number of youth job seekers. That’s why we equip young people to become job creators, not just job seekers. From agribusiness to local enterprises, they’re building what they once thought impossible.
Many young people grow up believing they have nothing to offer. We challenge that mindset. Through our Asset-Based Community Development (ABCD) approach, youth identify what they already have - land, skills, ideas - and use it to build their future from the ground up.
Over 60% of Africa’s population is under the age of 25 - a massive opportunity if invested in wisely. In Rwanda, youth face high unemployment, yet many still wait for external help. We work to flip this narrative by helping young people see themselves as part of the solution.
At Love & Hands, we help youth see and use the opportunities already around them. Through our asset-based community development approach, they gain practical skills, build confidence, and start businesses that create jobs — for themselves and others.
We encourage saving, smart investment, and teamwork so they can shape their future and strengthen their communities from the ground up.
